CHALLENGE YOURSELF TO BE EVEN MORE AUTHENTIC
And what I've learned after seven years in business, is that your best favorite clients hire you because you're a real human. Not because you're perfect, but because you're real. Because you're willing to show all sides of you, the messy hair bun side, the crying, and a puddle on the couch side, as well as the big win side. All sides of your personality and story and truth have value and help you attract those clients that you are going to fall in love with and be so grateful to work with.
The fear that frequently comes up around this is that you'll be rejected or push people away or turn people off. Well, if I share that side of myself, if I share that part of my story, maybe people won't like me or respect me or see me the same way. Maybe I won't capture the same amount of power or influence as an entrepreneur, as a leader. The opposite is actually true.
So, what I'm asking you to do in 2021 is to continue challenging that belief. Most of my clients, when they come to work with me, are hiding a very attractive piece of themselves because they think that piece is not attractive. They think that hiding is safe, but you have no idea what you're leaving on the table by leaving parts of you off that table.
So just try it as an experiment. It might be uncomfortable, but I promise it will be worth it.
ALWAYS BE TESTING
Think of it as an experiment. And now is the time to constantly be looking at what's working and what's not. Things have changed so quickly. Even the things that were working six months ago are not really working now.
I also think something else to look at while you test is to really look at true engagement, true community, with everything that's happened, I feel many people feel like we wanted to connect more. We want to feel held and understood and like we're not alone. Having that kind of humanization of your content. So looking at using video and audio as much as possible, looking at behind the scenes as much as possible, and just kind of taking some of those walls down especially if you are a coach or consultant, you don't always have to be on teacher mode.
Experiment. My motto is test it, tweak it, try again. So I think this is the perfect time for that.
FOCUSES ON THE HUMANS IN YOUR AUDIENCE
CELEBRATE HOW FAR YOU'VE COME BUT THINK BIGGER
So I think it's really important to not only celebrate how far you've come but not play small because you're probably going to create something bigger than you ever realized was possible.
